Originally released on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, Metroid: Zero Mission serves as a remake of the Nintendo Entertainment System original title Metroid. It served as an introduction to the franchise for those who had never played the original NES title, or other earlier games in the series.
While the two games share many similarities, there are a variety of differences to be found between the titles as well. The GBA edition sports extra bosses, new items and more areas to explore in addition to all of the content from the original game.
There is also an extra segment found near the end of the game where a player can, for the first time, play as Zero Suit Samus, where she is without her famed power suit.
Metroid: Zero Mission has been available in Japan and Europe’s Virtual Console for some time now, and is much appreciated for North American fans of the series. You can purchase the game now for $7.99 on the Nintendo Wii U Eshop.
